Ten Reasons Why
1) Nurturing
The most important thing to the staff at Field of Dreams is to
ensure each child knows he/she is loved. The teachers interact
with the children, at their level, throughout the day. The
teachers do not sit on the side, out of the way, in a comfortable
chair. The low staff/child ratios allow the time for individual
attention. Children experience the most significant growth and
development when they feel secure.
2) Learning
Field of Dreams will have a well-respected
curriculum that is endorsed by the South Carolina Department of
Education. We will have certified teachers who understand the
needs of their age group, and know how to create an environment of
fun and learning.
3) Cleanliness
We maintain very high standards for cleanliness
and sanitation. Children wash their hands before eating and after
play. There will be bathroom access from outside play areas, as
well as outdoor drinking fountains and sinks to wash hands.
Teachers will routinely sanitize toys and furniture between uses.
Disposable gloves are worn when changing infants. We can't be too
careful where young children are concerned.
4) Safety and Security
Parents can feel secure in knowing that each
child must be signed in and out by an authorized adult, and that
electronic security and locks will be in place. There are
cameras in every room, and have video
recording for internal use, and secure internet monitoring available to parents.
5) Growth and Development
It is an exciting opportunity and a privilege to
play a part in the growth and development of your child. Field of
Dreams will focus on social and emotional growth and development
as well as physical.
6) Nourishing meals
We know that the day is more enjoyable and goes
more smoothly when children have delicious, nutritious food, fresh
air to play in and plenty of opportunity to expend energy. This
is all part of our commitment to promoting children's good health
and physical development. Field of Dreams will meet Federal Food
Standards for nutritional hot meals with no extra cost to parents.
7) Time Savers
We know how hectic each work day is for
families. We will help your child get homework completed before
being picked up in the evening. We will offer optional time
saving services including gourmet-to-go meals and dry cleaning
drop-off and pick-up. Other services will be added in the future
based on demand. Please share your ideas on other services that
would be beneficial to you.
8) Communication
Frequent communication between you and your
child's teacher is essential. We will provide regular written
reports on progress and observations through the week. Daily
reports will be provided for children under two years of age. We
suggest spending some time with the teacher at the end or the
beginning of the day to help stay in close touch with the
happenings in the classroom.
Frequent information regarding Field of Dreams
will be provided on the web site, as well as in a regularly
published newsletter. We are also interested in understanding your
needs. We would like to hear from you to see how we can better
serve you and your child.
9) Respect
Respect is one of the cornerstones of Field of
Dreams. We treat each child with respect, and help teach children
to respect each other. We respect our staff, and ensure they have
what they need to help your child have fun and learn.
10) You are always welcome
Parents are always welcome at Field of Dreams.
Internet viewing is also being planned in each room to allow
parents to view their child, even on the busiest of days. We
invite you to come by at any time of the day to visit, or simply
come by to have lunch with your child.
